The wordmark for MK BIOTECH was inspired by a life phenomenon called cell division and was designed by combining the letter ‘O’ and the moment of cell division when the daughter cell is divided from the mother cell. In fact, among the several words derived from the word ‘Bio’ such as nature, life and etc., they are commonly thought of as blue and therefore the oval cytoplasm’s color was chosen to be blue and the close-to-round core nucleus going through cell division’s color was chosen to be the complementary color, yellow, which enhances visibility; this visibility becomes a meaning for the core of the biotech industry. For application, refer to the guidelines, use the original file, and any form of modification will not be allowed.

Color Regulations
MK Biotech’s colors maintain a consistent C.I. using a blue elliptical cytoplasm and a complementary yellow nucleus. Colors are standardized as Pantone Color or 4 primary colors (CMYK) which were specified in the guidelines, or RGB colors (when using the Web & App) and gradation is not available. Depending on the environment of the expression medium, there may be severe differences such as brightness and saturation, so when reproducing a color, a color sample in the reproduction material should be used to obtain the best standard color.
